Heather, Paradise Meadows

I suppose Mount Washington can't be called part of the Comox Valley, but it is only 25 miles from my doorstep, and I'd be sorry not to include this picture in the album. Spring comes late to Paradise Meadows, and the pink mountain heather (Phyllodoce empetriformis) was blooming on July 11 amid the last patches of snow.
